Third-party trademarks and images

Netflix, HBO Max, Max, Prime Video, Disney+, Hulu, Peacock, Paramount+, Apple TV+ and all other service names, and all film and series titles, logos and images, are trademarks and/or copyrights of their respective owners. Starts This Friday is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by any of them.

Show images are studio publicity stills sourced via TMDB (The Movie Database). This product uses TMDB images but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

Commentary, news reporting and fair use

Starts This Friday reports on and reviews third-party films and series. Where the show uses clips, stills or quotations, it uses small portions for news reporting, commentary, criticism and review, which we believe is fair use under 17 U.S.C. § 107.

If you hold the rights to something we used and want it removed, send a request through our recommend form with the page or episode, the material, and why you are asking. We review every request and take material down where it is warranted.

Rumors and accuracy

Release dates, leaving-soon dates and availability come from the services and can change without notice; anything unannounced is labelled as unconfirmed. Verdicts are opinion. Starts This Friday is for entertainment and information. It may be wrong or out of date, and it is not professional advice. The site and the show are provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind.

AI disclosure

The host, Remy Marlow, is an AI-generated character, not a real person. Her face, voice and photos are synthetic. Scripts are written and fact-checked by the production team, and AI tools are used to produce the video and voice.

Privacy

Recommendations. The recommend form asks for your name, your email and a show or movie, plus optionally where it is streaming and why Remy should watch it. We store each recommendation in our database (hosted by Supabase) together with the address of the page you sent it from, and email it to the production team through Resend. Resend also sends you an automatic confirmation. We use your name and email only to follow up on your recommendation.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics and Metricool to count visits and see which pages and episodes people watch. They set cookies or similar identifiers and collect information such as pages viewed, referring site, approximate location, device and browser, which Google and Metricool process for us.

Video and social. Episodes and clips play in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player (youtube-nocookie.com). YouTube may store information on your device once you play a video, under Google’s privacy policy. When the site shows our latest Instagram posts, those images and videos load from Meta’s servers, which receive your IP address and browser details.

Your Call poll. Your vote is saved only in your own browser (local storage). It is not sent to us.

Hosting. The site is hosted on Vercel, which processes standard request data such as your IP address to serve pages and keep the site secure. There are no ads on this site.

We do not sell or rent personal information. To see or delete a recommendation you sent, use the recommend form with “Privacy request” as the show or movie and tell us the email you used. This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Terms of use

You are welcome to watch, read and share links to Starts This Friday for your personal, non-commercial use. Please don’t scrape the site, re-upload or redistribute our videos, artwork or text, or present our content or host as your own or as endorsing anything. Links to third-party sites and services are provided for reference and are not endorsements. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. We may update these terms and this page at any time; the date below shows the latest version.

Contact and takedown notices (DMCA)

Send questions, privacy requests and copyright notices through our recommend form. A copyright takedown notice under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3) must include:

  • your physical or electronic signature, as the owner or someone authorized to act for the owner;
  • the copyrighted work you say is infringed;
  • the material you want removed, with enough detail to find it (the page or episode URL and, for video, the timestamp);
  • your contact information: address, phone number and email;
  • a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent or the law;
  • a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act for the owner.
